Alicia Manfroy joined the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary team in 2026, where she coordinates volunteers and promotes boater education. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, she earned a B.S. in Environmental Science from Santa Clara University. Her love of the Florida Keys began in childhood, inspiring her to dedicate her career to protecting its environment. She moved to the Florida Keys in 2019, working in coral restoration while also engaging in science communication, media outreach, and scientific publications. Beyond research, Alicia has held a wide range of community and education roles, including serving as a Community and Restoration Coordinator for Coastlove, Education Manager at the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden, and Program Manager at Reef Relief. She looks forward to continuing her commitment to protecting and preserving the region’s unique marine environment by connecting with the Florida Keys community through outreach and volunteer opportunities.
